Ipswich Suffolk England
Ipswich is the country town of Suffolk and as such has plenty to offer both locals and visitors alike. It’s within easy distance for exploring the coast, as well as being surrounded by some truly glorious countryside.
The town itself boasts a myriad of medieval and Victorian streets lined with beautiful architecture including many delightful old churches. However, you’ll need to turn something of a blind eye to some of the more modern development, but an astonishing 660 of its buildings are now listed, testifying to their beauty and historical interest of the area. Also the many scenic parks and gardens complete the town’s unique appeal.
In addition, as the entertainment capital of East Anglia you can also be certain of finding something to keep you occupied in Ipswich. It has an excellent reputation for good theatre across three centres and with 18 screens at the cinema there’s never a dull moment. Shopping here is also a real joy with some well-stocked shopping centres and a popular market. Whilst just a short stroll transports you from the town centre to the waterfront. Having undergone a major makeover in recent years the Waterfront area of Ipswich now has more housing and an increasing number of trendy bars and restaurants, making it the place to see and be seen in.
